Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger released the following statement on her vote against the Democrats’ big government socialist spending bill.
“The purely partisan tax and spend bill, incorrectly labeled ‘build back better,’ is far too expensive and will fail to restart our economy,” said Congresswoman Harshbarger. “Inflation is out of control, wages are suffering, and the Democrats’ solution, when you strip away their budget gimmicks, is to raise taxes and add to the national debt. Instead of focusing on solving these issues that are harming all Americans, this bill focuses on the far-left’s wish list including Green New Deal provisions and taxpayer funded abortions. Additionally, the bill threatens funding to our Tennessee hospitals if the state does not implement D.C. Democrats’ preferred Obamacare Medicaid expansions.
“This is yet another failed policy from the Biden Administration and Washington Democrats that will raise taxes on American families. It is definitely not how to ‘build back better.’ I voted no.”
