SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday issued the following statement on the House passage of a $2 trillion investment in American families that will bring down costs, create new jobs, and help the nation tackle the climate crisis, all while reducing the federal deficit:

“The Build Back Better framework is a historic investment in our country, charting a course toward a brighter future by lowering costs for New Mexicans, spurring economic growth, and combating climate change. This legislation will build on many of the initiatives and policies that New Mexico is already leading on, including capping the price of insulin, making affordable child care more accessible, expanding pre-K, reducing climate change-causing emissions, making higher education more affordable, lowering health care costs, and cutting taxes for working families. I am grateful to Representatives Leger Fernández and Stansbury for their ongoing efforts on behalf of our state, and to President Biden for his leadership on these transformative investments in New Mexico.”
