The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced Mid Michigan Community Action Agency in Farwell and EightCAP in Greenville have been awarded grants to help support Head Start programs in the Fourth District.

“The early childhood programs like those facilitated by MMCAA and EightCAP support the needs of children and families in our communities,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “I have visited Head Start classrooms in the Fourth District and I know the people there work hard to provide children with important lessons and a safe learning environment. These grants will help MMCAA and EightCAP continue to provide essential services.”

Congressman Moolenaar is Michigan's senior member of House Approrpriations Committee, and sits on the subcommittee with oversight of HHS and the funding levels for its programs. He has been a long time supporter of Head Start funding and has successfully advocated for it in Congress to support these programs in the Fourth District. He has also visited MMCAA and EightCap on multiple occasions.

Mid Michigan Community Action Agency has been awarded a $60,194 grant and Eight Community Action Program has been awarded a $281,406 grant.  More details about the grants are attached to this press release.
