Jesse Reising for Congress: Supreme Court Nomination Hearings

Illinois

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Decatur, IL. – Jesse Reising–a candidate for Illinois’ thirteenth congressional district, former federal prosecutor, and former judicial law clerk to two federal judges–released the following statement regarding the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on the nomination to the Supreme Court:

Illinois families face serious challenges that connect directly to our legal system, like skyrocketing violent crime in our neighborhoods and the national security crisis at our southern border. It is vital that the Senate conduct a thorough review of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record, legal views, and judicial philosophy.

We cannot let the woke left, who are out of touch with the needs of Americans, hijack this process as they have done in the recent past. Lawmakers must thoroughly vet President Biden’s candidate so the American people can understand her record, and how potential future rulings will impact our nation and its people.

The Supreme Court should be made up of justices that believe in our founding principles of limited government, free enterprise, and personal responsibility. Those are the principles I plan to champion if elected to Congress and believe everyone in a government position should work toward.
