Democratic Candidate Nikki Budzinski’s track record on foreign energy contradicts her campaign promise

Decatur, IL. – According to reporting from the Washington Free Beacon, Democratic Congressional Candidate Nikki Budzinski played a key role in President Biden’s cancelation of the Keystone XL pipeline as a member of his administration in 2021. This information comes as Budzinski publicly campaigns on reducing America’s dependence on foreign energy.

Despite Budzinski’s pledge to reduce our reliance on energy from foreign regimes, the story noted that “energy experts, however, contend that halting Keystone had the opposite effect.”

“It’s no surprise that a career bureaucrat’s words on the campaign trail don’t match up with their actions,” said Jesse Reising. “The thirteenth congressional district does not need a self-interested politician who says what’s politically convenient. We need a leader who will fight to open up the American energy market in a safe and reliable way that delivers jobs and lower costs to the people of Central and Southern Illinois.”
