Today, the Kent campaign released the following letter from conservative legend and Republican National Committeeman Morton Blackwell:

Some Republican incumbents in Congress have taken a few bad positions or have cast a few bad votes. Most are generally aligned with conservative Republican principles.

However, incumbent Jaime Herrera Beutler has crossed some of the most important lines that define our party. She voted against repealing Obamacare. She voted against funding to secure our border. She voted for amnesty for illegal aliens at every opportunity. And she has expressed a disturbing willingness to support red flag laws.

Perhaps worst of all, she was one of just ten Republicans to vote to impeach a sitting Republican President, Donald J. Trump, and she sided with Democrats in voting for the outrageously phony January 6th commission.

Someone who has expressed such profound disloyalty to our party is not deserving of any party loyalty herself.

I have decided to endorse her challenger, Joe Kent. He’s running for Congress in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. He has the potential not only to win the primary but also to succeed in the general election.

Joe Kent gave twenty years of his life serving on eleven combat missions in the Army’s special forces. He is completely committed to the pro-life cause and to our Second Amendment rights. He has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. I believe Joe will uphold his oath to defend our Constitution as a congressman with the same fidelity with which he upheld his oath in the military.

Joe Kent can win. His campaign has raised a staggering $1.1 million. He understands the power of grassroots activism. He and his team have already recruited over four hundred volunteers on the ground in his district. Polls show he is poised for victory.

He has earned the powerful endorsements of President Trump, General Michael Flynn, and Congressmen Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz.

Our party must have reliable, conservative leaders like Joe Kent we can count on to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other principled leaders in Congress like Jim Jordan and Ted Cruz.

I urge conservatives in his district and around the country to rally to his cause.
