Today, Trafalgar Group released a poll showing Joe Kent leading the field in the first-round of the jungle primary. Joe is the choice of 30.6% of voters, over seven points ahead of incumbent Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler who is in third place (23.4%) behind Joe and Democrat Brent Hennrich (24.7%).

Joe’s favorability number is +16.6% (39.7% favorable, 23.1% unfavorable, with 37.4 % of voters either have never heard of him or have no opinion). Jaime Herrera Beuttler’s favorability number is -25.8% (33.1% favorable, 58.9% unfavorable, only 7.8% unknown or no opinion).

Trafalgar Group was the most accurate pollster calling the 2021 Virginia Gubernatorial Election (accurate within 0.13%).

Kent Campaign Manager Byron Sanford released the following statement.

That Joe is leading this race is no surprise to us. Joe is the only candidate with a serious presence on the ground. He’s held over 100 public events, recruited over 400 volunteers, raised over $1.1 million, and earned the endorsements of both national and state leaders including President Donald J. Trump, Congressman Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz, local GOP leader Loren Culp, and countless local elected officials and party leaders.

Still, we do not take this election for granted. We are eight months away from when voters start to cast their ballots and will continue to campaign and raise money like an underdog.

Our opponent is sitting on millions of dollars she will weaponize against us, and we are ready to fight for every vote.
