WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Peter Meijer (MI-03) announced today that he has officially joined the Congressional Caucus on the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This caucus seeks to strengthen the ties between the Kingdom and the United States.

“As a member who represents a district that maintains deep connections with its Dutch heritage, I am excited to be joining the Dutch caucus,” said Rep. Peter Meijer. “My great grandfather, Hendrik Meijer, immigrated from the Netherlands at the turn of the 20th century in pursuit of the American Dream. I’m proud of my Dutch ancestry and often-mispronounced last name, and I look forward to representing West Michigan’s Dutch community in Congress.”
