If elected, what economic policies will you pursue to help Americans who are worried about their economic prospects in the coming years?
If elected, to help Americans who are worried about their economic prospects in the coming years I will pursue macroeconomic policies, labor market policies, and government price control. Macroeconomic policies are policies to overcome market failure. Macroeconomics policies include lowering taxes, price control, housing market and subsidies. Subsidies are where the government pays a part of the cost. I will take an expansionary approach through fiscal policy which involves increasing government spending and reducing taxes. Another approach would be to use a monetary policy which involves increasing the money supply. Labor market policies involve statutory legal minimum wage, free child care support, and progressive tax and benefit system to reduce poverty. Government price controls are policies to influence market prices. For example, legal maximum price is where I would prevent excess prices for renting. I’m willing to invest in American families to help us all become prosperous.
