WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a Ways and Means Committee hearing titled, "Substance Use, Suicide Risk, and the American Health System" Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) highlighted how Lotus Recovery Centers is using their facilities to help West Virginians recover from addiction.
"In the face of immense sadness and despair, I have seen my community come together in amazing and inspiring ways. We have so many facilities, programs, and individuals who have risen up to address the epidemic and to help find healing for patients and their families," said Congresswoman Miller. "One of these places is the Lotus Recovery Center located in Boone County in my district. They utilize an evidence-based approach where they provide a wide variety of services including cognitive behavioral therapy. They also have a case management program, where they focus on the social determinants of health such as housing insecurity, food insecurity, workforce issues, and education development. They ensure that patients not only heal while in their centers, but also have the tools to remain sober once they leave. I am thankful for all of the work they do."
"Lotus Recovery Centers is honored to be able to make meaningful impact in the communities that we serve," said David Stup, Chief Operating Officer, Lotus Recovery Centers. "Our vision is to create integrated healthcare systems focused on the intersection of substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment in order to improve health outcomes in communities of greatest need. With the continued support of our local, state, and federal officials, we are confident that we will be able to continue to provide life-saving services during these times of immense need."
