We know that the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade in the next few months.
If that happens, state law in Oregon and several other states will protect the right to abortion health care.
But that's not true for much of the country. Many states have "trigger" laws that will instantly ban abortion in their states. Many others will move quickly to implement dangerous restrictions that will effectively ban abortion.
In the House, we've already passed a federal law to protect the right to abortion nationwide. It's time for the Senate to do the same.
We need the U.S. Senate to hear us loud and clear. Although we have many allies in this fight, there are more than a few Democrats and Republicans in the Senate who are on the fence.
We must get this done. Thank you for standing with me for reproductive freedom.
