RYE, NH – Gail Huff Brown issued the following statement in response to the damning revelation that Matt Mowers potentially broke federal election law while working for Chris Christie’s campaign against Donald J. Trump by voting in both New Hampshire and New Jersey for the 2016 Presidential Primary:
“The Republican Party is the party of election integrity, and we cannot nominate someone who has engaged in voter fraud and expect to be taken seriously on the topic. We can do better.”
BACKGROUND
- Today the Associated Press revealed that Matt Mowers voted twice in the 2016 presidential primary, once in New Hampshire and once in New Jersey.
- When asked about election integrity on WMUR’s CloseUp in January,Mowers said, “we need to make sure that there’s confidence in our elections.”
