Yesterday, CHC BOLD PAC announced their endorsement of State Senator Tony Vargas in his bid to represent Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.
CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Hispanic Caucus, was founded in 2001 to increase Latino representation in Congress while defending the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives.
Vargas is the first Latino to ever run to represent the district in Washington and is also the first Latino Democrat to be elected to the Nebraska Legislature.
“I am honored to have the early support of BOLD PAC and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus,” said State Senator Tony Vargas. “Growing up, I didn’t see a lot of politicians who looked like me. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be that example for a new generation and to be in a position to passionately support working families, students, and business owners right here in Nebraska and across the country.”
“At a time when our nation needs transformational leaders in Washington, BOLD PAC is proud to stand with Tony Vargas because he shares our values, is committed to putting families first, and is running a strong campaign that can win,” said CHC BOLD PAC Executive Director Victoria McGroary.
