WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Peter Meijer (R-MI) today voted against H.R. 6119, the Further Extending Government Funding Act. This short-term Continuing Resolution (CR)will extend government funding until February 18, 2022. He released the following statement:

“I voted in favor of the two-month CR in September to avert a government shutdown and give the Democratic majority the time they needed to deliver a Fiscal Year 2022 budget with bipartisan input. Instead, Speaker Pelosi punted on this governing responsibility and spent the past two months on political bills. I voted in good faith for a CR in September and was met by irresponsible, bad faith actions from Democratic leadership. I do not support another short-term extension that would give them more time to waste, so I voted ‘no’ on today’s CR. At some point, Congress must start doing the work of the American people.”
