United Nurses and Allied Professionals (UNAP) announced their endorsement of General Treasurer Seth Magaziner to serve as Rhode Island’s next U.S. Representative for the 2nd Congressional District.

“UNAP is proud to support Seth because he has always been an advocate for nurses and other healthcare professionals as well as the patients we care for,” said UNAP President Lynn Blais. “Seth has a track record of standing up for us and we are confident he will protect the Affordable Care Act, support policies that lower the cost of prescription drugs, and address the shortage of healthcare workers by investing in education and workforce training.”

The United Nurses & Allied Professionals (UNAP) is a regional healthcare union representing approximately 6,500 nurses, technologists, therapists, support staff, and other healthcare workers in Rhode Island.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of UNAP’s nurses and other healthcare professionals,” said General Treasurer and congressional candidate Seth Magaziner. “Over the last two years, these healthcare heroes put themselves at risk to care for others in the face of a pandemic, worker shortages and burnout.  Quality, affordable healthcare is critical to all Rhode Islanders and, in Congress, I will fight to protect the Affordable Care Act, lower the cost of prescription drugs and improve working conditions for healthcare workers.”

Magaziner has been previously endorsed by the Rhode Island AFL-CIO, Rhode Island Building & Construction Trades Council, Rhode Island Laborers’ District Council, Ironworkers Local 37, Unite Here Local 26, Carpenters 330, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 51, Sheetmetal Workers Local 17, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, and Teamsters Local 251.
