Rep. McKinley issued a statement following President Joe Biden's State of the Union

Washington, D.C. — Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E. (WV-01) issued a statement following President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

"President Joe Biden’s remarks tonight reminded me of that old baseball poem, Casey at the Bat. Think about it: the whole world was watching as President Biden had a chance to hit a home run with his State of the Union address tonight," said Rep. McKinley.

"But President Biden’s first strike came when he refused to hold China accountable for the role they played in the COVID-19 pandemic, while breaking his promise to solve the crisis if elected."

"Strike two was when President Biden refused to address how his reckless spending led to the highest inflation rate we’ve seen in 40 years – a devastating tax on everyone that is crushing families."

"And strike three was when President Biden failed to accept responsibility for his weak foreign policy that effectively enabled Putin to wage war against Ukraine."

"Just like mighty Casey in Mudville: there is no joy in America, and tonight, Joe Biden has struck out,” said Rep. McKinley.
