Congressman Dan Kildee, Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, today announced new federal grants to support local health centers helping to provide quality, affordable health care to Michigan children, families, veterans, and seniors.
The $11,270,468 in federal grants, awarded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), will support the continuation of primary care, dental and behavioral health care services to mid-Michigan residents, particularly those who are medically underserved or live in rural areas, as well as veterans. The following community health centers in mid-Michigan will receive the federal grants:
- Great Lakes Bay Health Centers will receive $5,371,208.
- Hamilton Community Health Network will receive $3,584,444.
- Sterling Area Health Center will receive $2,314,816.
Congressman Kildee continues to fight to ensure mid-Michigan residents have access to affordable health care, including announcing over $14 million in federal grants to fund Community Health Centers in mid-Michigan, as well as grants for rural and underserved providers. Community Health Centers provide primary care, dental and behavioral health care services to families, particularly those in medically underserved areas.
