Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced two National Institutes of Health grants to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). The first, for $580,839, from the National Institute of Environmental and Health Sciences, is for research on the epigenetic response to organophosphorus compounds. The second, for $226,000, from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, is for work on oral diseases.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“For the second time this week, I am pleased to announce major research grants from the NIH to our medical school. As a strong supporter of medical research, it is encouraging to see this investment, which will improve health outcomes and likely save lives.”
Congressman Cohen on Wednesday announced two NIH grants totaling more than $1 million to UTHSC for anti-fungal research.
