Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a $542,071 grant from the National Science Foundation underwriting a civil engineering project entitled “CAREER: An Investigation of Microplastics Fate and Contaminant Transport in Storm Runoff, The Nexus of Environmental Engineering and Material Sciences.”
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I’m pleased to announce this significant grant supporting important environmental research on microplastics. The U of M’s ongoing work in this area will lead to important breakthroughs and mitigate the impact of plastic pollution.”
