Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today toured the Federal Emergency Management Agency-supported Community Vaccination Center at the Pipkin Building in the old Mid-South Fairgrounds this morning. The expanded center, which can vaccinate 3,000 people per day, was announced by the White House last week as part of a major Biden Administration effort to boost vaccine distribution and outreach. After his tour, Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“The expanded capacity at the Pipkin Center is an impressive undertaking, and I commend the Biden Administration and the officials on the ground in Memphis for concentrating resources here. The one message I’m hearing loud and clear is that people need to make appointments and come to the fairgrounds as soon as they can. The vaccines are free, the lines are short and the process is very efficient. Do it for yourself, for your family and for the whole community. The vaccine is the quickest, safest way to get back to life as usual for yourself and the country. We’re in a war against this virus. It is time to step up and take part.”
