Dingell Announces $500,000 Grant to Develop Technology Education and Career Pathways for Farmworkers

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today announced $500,000 in the Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) grant funding for Ann Arbor’s Corporate for a Skilled Workforce. The funding will be used to help Michigan’s food growers, processers and distributors develop workforce skills through training and job-based experiences.

“We need to act swiftly to preserve good-paying American jobs,” said Rep. Debbie Dingell. “Corporation for a Skilled Workforce is leading the way in identifying the needs of farmworkers and preparing them with the skills to succeed in their field. This funding is crucial to ensuring educational training opportunities and work experiences, increasing the supply of skilled workers and supporting our economy.”
