WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) tonight released the following statement after President Biden delivered his joint address to Congress:

“President Biden delivered a refreshing address to the nation tonight as a President who truly understands America’s needs. The facts are simple: we need good-paying jobs that support American families and empower us to rebuild our economy so that it works for everyone. I applaud the president’s call to Buy American – Michigan has long benefited from this patriotic policy and it’s about time we renewed our focus on it. But it’s not lost on me how far we are from any semblance of a full recovery. Michiganders are still suffering amidst a COVID surge, unemployment is still through the roof, and working class families are still dealing with a lot of uncertainty. These are American issues, not Democratic or Republican, and I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues across the aisle to create solutions that benefit those who need it most: the workers that keep our economy going and the families that make our communities prosper.”
