Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and Chairman of its Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties, released the following statement after reviewing former Trump White House Counsel Donald F. McGahn’s transcribed interview with the Committee.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“McGahn’s statement establishes that President Trump is a criminal and a crook and asked McGahn to lie on his behalf. The testimony demonstrates Trump lied, repeatedly, about his attempts to remove Special Counsel Robert Mueller as Mueller investigated Russian interference of the 2016 election. Trump lied to the American people and was unfit for office. Unfortunately for McGahn, it also shows how he aided Trump in obstructing justice.”
