Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a $231,000 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health for research on extracellular vesicles-based drug delivery of antiretroviral regimen to target central nervous system HIV reservoirs.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“It is important to understand and improve the best possible delivery of antiretroviral drugs to people with HIV. I am pleased to see the National Institutes of Health underwriting research in this area which will make treatment more effective and ultimately save lives.”
