WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) released the following statement remembering Washington Post Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt:

“I’m completely devastated by the loss of Fred Hiatt. For over 20 years, Fred led the Post’s editorial page with common sense and decency, understanding many sides of an issue and exploring those views with fairness and independence. Above all, Fred always fought for human rights through strong, well-written editorials that impacted so many readers. I’ll miss his thoughtful commentary and his kind friendship. I would often call him and ask for his wisdom on a wide range of issues. He made a significant difference in many people’s lives. Sending all of my love to his family and loved ones as they deal with such a great loss.”
