Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security, has been made aware of the situation involving a drive-by shooting this afternoon near the Kingsbury schools, and made the following statement:

“I continue to be horrified at the senseless shootings in Memphis. Other than reforming our gun laws to keep guns out of the wrong hands through background checks – which I support but which is politically difficult to achieve – the only way we can fight crime is through investing in communities and public safety, which I also support. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Kingsbury community.”
