Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Memphis Library Foundation will receive a $49,490 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to enhance services for vulnerable populations facing transportation and financial barriers, made more difficult because of COVID-19. The grant will allow Memphis Public Libraries to expand outreach programs to traditionally underserved populations through the library's mobile technology van, including providing technology classes for minority, female, low-income, and other at-risk youth populations.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“This grant funding will extend the range of services available to Memphians who might otherwise find a trip to the library beyond their means. Access to library services is critical to our community. This is a wise investment in our people.”
