Congressman Cohen Announces $3.9 Million for Memphis Fire Department Healthcare Navigator Program

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Memphis Fire Department’s Healthcare Navigator Program will receive a grant of $3.9 million for its minority health community programs from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Minority Health.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I am proud to announced this substantial investment in minority health which will go a long way in improving outcomes when people call 911 in our community. I congratulate Fire Department Director Gina Sweat for her work developing the innovative Healthcare Navigator Program, a nationally recognized model for the thoughtful use of our finite emergency services resources. I know this funding will be well spent.”
