Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a grant of $3,806,815 from the National Science Foundation for scholarships to train a regional cybersecurity workforce. The project, “CyberCorps Scholarship for Service: Developing the Cybersecurity Workforce in West Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas,” is under the direction of Department of Computer Science Assistant Professor Kan Yang.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I congratulate the University of Memphis and Professor Yang for being awarded this prestigious scholarship funding to train students in cutting-edge disciplines involving computer security. This is an important investment which will help strengthen and diversify the skills of the workforce in our region.”
