Today, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) February 2022 jobs report:

“Our nation’s recovery continues to shatter expectations, and today’s impressive jobs report is a resounding signal that our labor market is resilient. Positive revisions to recent months further demonstrate that hiring remained strong during pandemic waves, reinforcing my repeated assertion that when Americans feel safe, they are at work. We are on track to return to pre-pandemic levels of employment in mere months—an outstanding rate of recovery spurred by the American Rescue Plan.

“President Biden’s leadership and congressional Democrats’ action made this rapid rebound possible, and we aren’t stopping now. With COVID cases continuing to drop and restrictions easing, Congress is focused on creating more good-paying jobs, lowering costs for families, and rebuilding our economy to be better than ever.”
