Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement marking one year since President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act into law:

“In the face of immense challenges, the American Rescue Plan enabled our nation to defy expectations as it recovered from the COVID-19 crisis. Ways and Means Democrats ensured that the law included enhanced tax cuts for workers and families, expanded access to affordable health care, support for seniors and people with disabilities, and pension stabilization for more than a million American retirees and workers. These policies, coupled with bold vaccination and public health initiatives, drove the country’s historic economic rebound and the creation of millions of new jobs. Democrats will continue our work building a better, stronger, more equitable America for workers and families.”
