Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Co-Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, better known as the Helsinki Commission, today voted on a resolution supporting the people of Ukraine.

The vote was 426 to 3.

After the vote, Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I am proud to stand with the Ukrainian people who are showing astonishing strength and resolve in the face of a relentless and cruel assault by Russia. I am also pleased to see the unity my Congressional colleagues are showing in this crisis. My thoughts are with President Zelensky and his great nation.”

Congressman Cohen recently returned from leading a Helsinki Commission fact-finding and supportive mission to Lithuania, where he met with U.S. troops along the Belarusian border, and to the Winter meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna, where he denounced Vladimir Putin.
