WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Ruthanne Fuller on her reelection as mayor of Newton, MA. Laphonza Butler, president of EMILY’s List, released the following statement:

Mayor Fuller has prioritized improving Newton’s education systems, investing in infrastructure and public transportation, and leading the city through the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to all that Mayor Fuller and Newton will accomplish in the coming years.”
In 2018, Ruthanne Fuller was sworn in as the 31st mayor of Newton, becoming the first ever woman to hold the position. Prior to her mayoral run, Fuller served as a city councilor from Ward 7 and served as vice chair of the Newton Citizen Advisory Group. She also previously served on Brookline’s Financial Planning Advisory Committee as well as the town’s Finance Committee and its Strategic Planning subcommittee. Fuller is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.
