Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) went to the House floor this morning to remember the late Congressman Don Young, Republican of Alaska, whose funeral service he attended earlier this week.
In his remarks, Congressman Cohen said in part:
“He wanted this House to work and this House to work together. Don Young voted for the bipartisan infrastructure bill because he knew infrastructure – roads, airports, river ports, and trains – made this country move and made business happen.
“I hope we will not forget Don Young, not just because if his oversize and lovable personality and the warmth he exuded to all of us, but for the fact he was bipartisan and he wanted this House to work.
“There’s a motto up there above the Speaker’s lectern that says, ‘Get something done while you’re here that is memorable and important.’ Look at that and remember Don Young.”
