WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission worth $1,551,200 to the Wayne County Commissioners for the Wayne County Phase I Broadband Fiber Project.
The project will install 16.8 miles of fiber backbone along State Route 152, bringing high internet speeds to 796 households and 191 businesses across northern Wayne County, including in Beech Fork, Beech Fork Marina, Lavalette, and Ardel.
"I thank the Appalachian Regional Commission for providing these funds to further connect the Mountain State," said Congresswoman Miller. "Expanding broadband in southern West Virginia will strengthen our economy and bring more opportunities to our state. This investment will help make West Virginia an even better place to raise a family and start a business."
