Congressmen Cohen Announces $12.9 Million Supplemental Grant to Shelby County Head Start Programs

 Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Shelby County Board of Education will receive a supplemental grant of $12,984,549 for Head Start programs from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I am pleased that the Shelby County Board of Education is receiving this funding to help young children in our community gain access to resources and skills they need. All children need early help to prepare for an increasingly complex and challenging world. Providing young, disadvantaged children access to early childhood education is a critical benefit for the children and the entire community.”
