Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, today applauded the advance the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), including two Memphis-centric projects he proposed. The bill includes provisions to deauthorize the Wolf River to create a lake adjacent to the historic downtown Snuff District and to accommodate a floating entertainment dock at Cobblestone Landing.

The measure now moves to the House floor.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I fully support the projects the City of Memphis requested for this year’s WRDA bill, and I am pleased to see that they may become a reality and improve the quality of life downtown. Both projects will transform our city and appeal to residents and tourists alike.”
