Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) released the following statement today in recognition of Memorial Day on Monday:

“On Memorial Day, the traditional beginning of the summer season, we pay tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our nation, and all those we have lost. Last month, I walked the rows of Union soldier tombstones at the Memphis National Cemetery with VA Secretary Denis McDonough, and then visited the Memphis Vet Center and the VA Medical Center, remembering and thanking veterans for their sacrifices. Please consider them all and thank them for their commitment to our nation this weekend, and keep those we have lost in your thoughts and prayers.”
