Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) offered seven amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) during the House Armed Services Committee markup. All the amendments passed through committee and will head to the House Floor for a vote.
“The biggest responsibility I have as a Representative is to ensure our nation has a strong national defense” said Rep. McClain. “The NDAA is a vehicle to do that, and I am pleased to see several of the priorities I submitted were adopted during committee markup. It is critically important that the NDAA is free of political gamesmanship, because the United States of America must always have an apolitical defense. My amendments focus on strengthening our national security and taking politics out of the process.”
“Rep. Lisa McClain has continued to make national security a top priority,” Ranking Member Mike Rogers (R-AL) said. “Rep. McClain worked hard to ensure that the FY23 NDAA strengthens our military and bolsters our national security.”
