Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) co-sponsored the Citizen Ballot Protection Act, which amends the National Voter Registration Act to allow states to impose a proof of citizen requirement when registering to vote in federal elections.
“This is a common sense bill that strengthens our nation’s election integrity” said Rep. McClain. “Right now, states across the country are allowing non-citizens to vote in federal elections and have a say in who represents the United States. That is ridiculous. We have enough problems with our election system as it is, so let’s solve one of those issues and ensure every American has an equal say in federal elections.”
