Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that Rhodes College will receive a $639,165 grant from the National Science Foundation to study the genetics of filamentous fungi under the direction of Chemistry and Natural Sciences Professor Loretta Jackson-Hayes.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I congratulate Rhodes College and Professor Jackson-Hayes for being awarded this prestigious National Science Foundation grant. The important natural science research it will support will give us a better understanding of fungal cells and potentially more effective antifungal drugs.”
