WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) released the following statement regarding the findings of a report by Amnesty International accusing Israel of racist oppression and apartheid:
“Israel is a steadfast, strategic ally committed to the values of democracy and freedom. Unfortunately, it is still targeted with grossly biased and antisemitic attacks that threaten to expose it to further violence and hate. Amnesty International’s report is dangerous, ill-founded and unfair, particularly given its failure to acknowledge the Jewish State’s security situation, which has required it to fend off terrorism and warfare from around the region and within its own borders throughout its existence. As Israel continues building and strengthening bonds of peace and cooperation with its neighbors, this smear against its sovereignty, integrity and legacy undermines that important progress. I urge the Biden administration and America’s international partners to denounce this ‘report’ and continue to support Israel and its ongoing fight to ensure its own survival and prosperity.”
