Today Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09) announced a list of twelve local surface transportation projects he has submitted to the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee for funding consideration. The committee is providing an opportunity for members of Congress to submit funding requests for surface transportation projects from their districts. These projects would improve our roads, make streets safer for pedestrians and bikers, reduce vehicle emissions, invest in lower income communities, boost accessibility for our neighbors with disabilities and more.

"Congress has decided to use our firsthand understanding of our districts' needs to help determine the best uses of a modest portion of federal dollars," said Rep. Levin. "I'm excited to have this chance to advocate for the resources Macomb and Oakland Counties need and tackle the issues I've heard about from you and your community leaders when we've met in line for coffee, at the grocery store or at one of my town halls."

Rep. Levin will submit surface transportation funding requests from twelve local governments including:

  • Macomb County
  • Oakland County
  • Beverly Hills
  • Center Line
  • Eastpointe
  • Ferndale
  • Fraser/Clinton Township
  • Hazel Park
  • Mount Clemens
  • Roseville/Clinton Township
  • Royal Oak
