With these final projects approved to improve workforce development, accessibility and community enrichment, Rep. Levin officially achieved inclusion of all his community project funding requests.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Levin (MI-09) announced the inclusion of $525,000 for Macomb County Community College and over $2.8M for five addition community revitalization projects in the Fiscal Year 2022 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies and Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies bills, respectively.
With these final projects approved, Rep. Levin officially achieved inclusion of every one of his community project funding requests for the House's Fiscal Year 2022 spending bills:
- Macomb Community College Individual Development Account (IDA) Program ($525,000)
- Clinton River Water Trail Improvements ($640,000)
- Eastside Community Hub Revitalization Project ($480,000)
- Mount Clemens Art Space Project Pre-Development Phase 3 ($750,000)
- Hazel Park Community Meeting Space ($505,000)
- Madison Heights Library Accessibility and Training Area ($490,000)
Inclusion in the House Appropriations Subcommittees' bills is the first step in the federal funding process. Once they are approved by the Appropriations Committee, they must then be passed by the full House, then the Senate, and signed by President Biden before they can reach our communities.
"I am really proud that all ten of my community project funding requests were included in their respective subcommittee appropriations bills. This reflects the strength of the projects put forward by our community leaders, their ingenuity in finding new ways to create community and opportunities. Importantly, many of these projects will serve our constituents most impacted by the pandemic in historically under-resourced neighborhoods as we work to build back better. " said Rep. Levin. "Thank you to Chair Rosa DeLauro for electing to provide these much-needed resources in Macomb and Oakland Counties."
