WASHINGTON – Congressman Alex Mooney (WV-02) today announced a $70,000 investment from the U.S. Economic Development Authority (EDA) awarded to the Region 7 Planning & Development Council in Buckhannon.

This investment supports the establishment of an economic development planning framework, process, and strategy that encourages private investment and economic growth in the region. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) process is designed to create a partnership between the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.

“This planning investment by the Economic Development Authority (EDA) is another step forward in bringing economic growth and prosperity to central West Virginia. I am happy to announce these funds, which are vital to supporting West Virginian’s economic development efforts,” said Congressman Mooney.
