WASHINGTON – Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) today announced $1,018,828 in grant funding for programs and facilities in the Second Congressional District that address the substance abuse crisis in West Virginia and support the post-treatment-to-employment continuum.

“Substance abuse is a crisis plaguing the Mountain State, and I am glad that the Appalachian Regional Commission has allocated these funds to support treatment and recovery centers,” said Congressman Mooney. “In Congress, I am working to ensure substance abuse recovery centers have the resources necessary to combat the opioid epidemic in West Virginia.”

This funding was awarded through the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC)’s Investments Supporting Partnerships In Recovery Ecosystems (INSPIRE) program, which focuses efforts on post-recovery entry into the workplace.
