Today, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced Tennessee will opt out of the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program on July 3. U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement regarding Gov. Lee's announcement:

"There is a record number of job openings right now. Paying folks more to stay at home than to go to work is increasing consumer prices and hurting the entire economy. We have to get people back to work and that's what Gov. Lee's decision to opt out of this program will do."
