June 2021 marks 225 years of Tennessee statehood. In recognition of this milestone, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) has released "Tennessee Under the Capitol Dome," a virtual tour of all things Tennessee in the United States Capitol Building.

"The Volunteer State has a rich history that includes individuals who ascended to the highest levels of government and events that helped shape the United States," Rep. Burchett said. "I'm proud to share with Tennesseans how our state is prominently featured throughout the nation's Capitol Building as we celebrate 225 years of statehood."

Rep. Burchett's "Tennessee Under the Capitol Dome" includes exhibits of the following items:

  • Statue of Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States

  • Bust of Andrew Johnson, 17th President of the United States
  • Bust of Al Gore, 45th Vice President of the United States
  • Painting of Daniel Boone traversing the Cumberland Gap

The Capitol Building remains closed due to COVID-19 but Rep. Burchett's office currently offers external tours of the Capitol Hill Complex.
