Tonight, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) voted against the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and released the following statement:
"America's military should not be brainwashed by woke politics, but that's exactly what the Democratic Party is forcing on servicemembers in this year's NDAA. Critical Race Theory classes and diversity and inclusion trainings will not prepare troops for combat, and it's disgusting to force women into the draft. President Biden also just botched our exit from Afghanistan, giving the country up to Taliban terrorists. Our country spent over $2 trillion in Afghanistan and President Biden wanted to leave so we would stop spending money there, but this NDAA allocates $325 million to the now terrorist-controlled nation."
