Tonight, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement regarding his vote against Joe Biden's $1.7 trillion social welfare agenda:
"President Biden lied to the entire country when he said his agenda costs nothing. Yesterday, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office debunked this talking point when it reported Biden's agenda adds billions of dollars to the federal deficit. This bill is not free. Tax breaks for blue state millionaires, amnesty for eight million illegal immigrants, surveillance of private bank accounts. These are just some of the many awful policies East Tennesseans can expect to pay for if this bill becomes law."
